An MoU between the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) and the Hong Kong FinTech Association aims to step up engagement among its members to create a dynamic and thriving fintech ecosystem in Asia.
The two associations will work closely to strengthen links between the banking, technology and fintech industries across Hong Kong, Singapore and the wider ASEAN region under a memorandum of understanding between the two sides, a press release announced on Wednesday.
In particular, they will work on several initiatives that support the development of financial innovations on API Exchange (APIX), AFIN's global cloud-based marketplace for financial institutions and fintechs to collaborate and deploy innovative solutions rapidly.
More Partnership Opportunities
AFIN and HKFTA will also mutually promote the awareness of the benefits of each association to their members both locally and internationally; share opinions, knowledge and best practices through events; and support interactions with regulators, industry associations and government bodies, the announcement said.
«With Asia currently undergoing a Fintech revolution, it has become increasingly important to facilitate collaboration between the different hubs across the region,» Manish Diwaan, AFIN managing director, said about the partnership with HKFTA, which he hopes will «cement Asia’s reputation as a world leader in fintech.»
