Haitong International has hired a former investment strategist from Goldman Sachs as its global head of asset management. 

Wang Shengzu joins Haitong International as a managing director and global head of asset management, according to a statement.

He is tasked with promoting the group’s asset management brand and increasing the scale of both internal and external strategies. 

Wang has more than a decade of experience in the financial sector, joining most recently from Goldman Sachs where he was its co-head of investments strategy group Asia and responsible for China and emerging market Asia macro strategies and tactical allocation. Previously, he also worked for Barclays and the International Monetary Fund. 

Strategic Plan 3.0

The latest addition is part of Haitong International’s broader «Strategic Plan 3.0» to diversify income, reduce risk assets, build a team of professionals and enhance product structures.

Other recent hires include former Julius Baer private banker Roger Teow as its Asia head of global family offices (GFO) and Singapore head of its private wealth management business.
