The Swiss-based digital asset subsidiary of Japanese securities firm Nomura has been granted a full crypto services license in Dubai.
Laser Digital, the digital asset-focused subsidiary of Japanese investment bank Nomura, received a cryptocurrency license to offer broker-dealer and virtual asset management services in Dubai.
With the new license, the blockchain firm will launch its trading and asset management activities in the coming months, offering OTC trading services and a full range of digital asset investment products and solutions to institutional investors, according to a media release on Friday.
Laser Digital is headquartered in Switzerland and has offices in London and Dubai. Laser's new license is one of the first granted by Dubai since it overhauled its regulatory regime for digital assets following several high-profile bankruptcies, including Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX.
