One of the 10 suspects in Singapore’s headline money laundering case has been slapped with new charges over allegedly cheating Standard Chartered and Bank of Singapore.
Su Jianfeng was handed two new charges for submitting forged documents, according to a «Business Times» report. This includes three sets of false annual reports for a company to Standard Chartered in May 2023 and Bank of Singapore in March 2022.
These documents were allegedly intended to show that Chen Qiuyan had legitimate sources of wealth. Chen is purportedly Su’s wife and is one of the 24 associates under investigation.
Seized Assets
Su is one of the 10 foreign nationals who were arrested in the anti-money laundering blitz in August involving more than S$3 billion ($2.2 billion) in assets. Over S$160 million of Su’s assets have been seized, including properties, vehicles and S$20 million in bank accounts.
Last month, Su Wenqiang, another one of the suspects, was delivered another seven charges including six alleging that he used proceeds from operating an unlawful remote gambling service in the Philippines.
