London-headquartered HSBC has opened a new office tower in Shenzhen’s Qianhai economic zone as part of broader efforts to tap opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
HSBC has unveiled its 25-storey «HyQ» tower in Qianhai, an economic zone located in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, according to an «SCMP» report.
The building will house HSBC’s Shenzhen branch, HSBC Qianhai Securities, and its fintech center, HSBC Software Development Guangdong. Offerings and functions available will include securities and financing services, wealth management, private and commercial banking as well back office support. Parts of the building will also be rented to businesses in technology, finance, services and culture.
The new tower is part of HSBC’s efforts to develop its business within the Greater Bay Area, an 11-city cluster in southern China.
