Bain's former head of financial services for Asia Pacific, Peter Stumbles, was appointed the managing partner for Australia & New Zealand on the 30th anniversary of the firm’s entry into the market. In his new role, he is responsible for leading Bain’s business across Australia & New Zealand, including overseeing its growth, strategy, talent and operations.

Stumbles has extensive experience in various financial services markets including banking, insurance, wealth management and payments. He has also served clients across the telecommunications, technology and private equity sectors, and has worked extensively in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America.

Stumbles replaces David Zehner, who held the position for seven years, during which the firm nearly doubled in size by revenue and the partner team grew to 36. Zehner will assume the role of head of Consumer Products practice for Asia Pacific.

«Australia & New Zealand have been a key region for growth, since we first opened there 30 years ago and it’s inspiring to see how it has developed into an industry-leading market around digital transformation, customer focus and innovation,» Manny Maceda, Bain’s worldwide managing partner, said about the milestone.
