What it is:
In October 1972, an Uruguay Air Force plane carrying the country's rugby team crashed in the Andes. The 16 survivors of the crash faced an almost hopeless battle against death as cold and hunger robbed their strength. Thirty years later, Nando Parrado describes how he managed to escape from a hell made of snow, ice, and barren cliff face – and how the other 15 survivors were rescued.
