Man GLG nets a heavyweight portfolio manager formerly with Blackrock to join as its head of Asia ex-Japan equities.
Andrew Swan joins the London-headquartered asset manager in the new role, effective in the middle of the third quarter, according to a statement. In his new Sydney-based role, Swan will report to Man GLG CEO Teun Johnston.
Swan has more than 25 years of experience in Asian and emerging market equities, and was most recently with Blackrock as its head of Asia & global emerging market fundamental equities after joining the rival asset manager in 2011. Previously, Swan had also spent 17 years with J.P. Morgan in various APAC equity portfolio management and research roles.
«We have been looking to expand our Asia offering for a number of years, but have been patient as we want to ensure that whenever we build out strategies in new areas, we do so with individuals we believe to be exceptional portfolio managers,» said Johnston.
As at December 31, 2019, Man GLG had $31.6 billion in assets under management.
