DBS named a digital banking executive to become its new group head for cash product management.

The bank appoints Rachel Chew as group cash product management head, according to a statement, effective as of yesterday. She will be responsible for the bank’s cash product proposition in Asia and to lead its strategy and expansion across existing and new markets.

She reports to Raof Latiff, group head of digital for institutional banking and global transaction services (GTS) product management.

Chew is a 20-year veteran in digital business and product development, most recently leading DBS’s digital banking teams in India and Indonesia.

Digital Role

According to Latiff, the need for digitalization is increasing amid prolonged travel and trade restrictions.

«With the global reset, it is also timely for new leaders like [Chew] who are well versed with digital technologies to be given the opportunity to lead and provide fresh perspectives to enhance the resilience of our strategic blueprint as we step into the next normal,» he said.
