Schroders has hired multiple seniors to expand its private asset capabilities, in part to strengthen its credentials in the Asia Pacific region.
Sophie van Oosterom joined Schroders as its London-based global head of real estate and Chantale Pelletier as the Paris-based global head of infrastructure in private assets, according to a statement from the British asset manager. Both will report to Georg Wunderlin, global head of private assets.
Van Oosterom joins from CBRE Global Investors with experience of overseeing investment strategy and performance, underwriting and program development in the EMEA region.
Recent Appointments
Pelletier joins with over 20 years of experience in building and managing infrastructure investment portfolios at Canadian pension firm Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ).
According to Schroder’s APAC co-head Susan Soh, the firm is «committed to enhancing our private assets offering to clients in Asia, and the recent appointments strengthen our credentials in the region».
Investors' Demand
«The experiences they bring will complement the on-the-ground expertise from our Schroder Pamfleet team and adds to our overall fixed income investment capability in Asia, enabling us to better address investors’ demand for sustainable, diversified sources of income and returns,» she said.
The firm has also hired Natalie Howard as its London-based head of real estate debt, reporting to van Oosterom, and Asia-based Tim Hallam as a portfolio manager for the Australian private debt team.
