HSBC Private Banking will look to strengthen linkages of Asian clients with Europe, the Middle East and Africa via the appointment of a newly created role.
HSBC Private Banking named Victor Wang as EMEA head of Asia coverage and connectivity, according to a statement, based in London.
Wang report to Shailesh Jaiswal, interim head of international, private banking U.K. on an entity-basis and functionally to Ivan Wong, interim market head for North Asia private banking.
Wang has 19 years of experience at HSBC and most recently led the China desk for U.K., continental and international Europe while representing and working very closely with teams in Hong Kong and mainland China. Previously, he held various global banking roles covering multinationals, particularly from China.
Asia-EMA Corridor
According to the statement, Wang will work with global relationship managers and a dedicated Asia-based international connectivity team to support Asian clients with wealth management needs in EMEA. Wang will also identify opportunities for EMEA-based Asian clients with needs in Asia.
