The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing has established an advisory group populated by industry heavyweights to support the development of China’s financial markets and economy.
HKEX has created a mainland China advisory group, according to a statement, alongside a mainland markets panel chaired by HKEX chief executive Nicolas Aguzin.
HKEX also welcomed Weijian Shan, chairman and CEO of private equity firm PAG Group, to its international advisory council.

The advisory group will feature three major heavyweights as its inaugural members: Primavera Capital chairman Fred Hu; ex-China Merchants Bank president Ma Weihua; and Hillhouse Group founder Zhang Lei.
«China Anchored is at the core of HKEX’s strategy,» said HKEX chairman Laura Cha. «We are committed to further elevating the role of HKEX and Hong Kong as the key facilitator in China’s connectivity with international markets.»
