Allianz Global Investors has hired a former Eastspring Investments executive as its lead portfolio manager for the Indian market.
Anand Gupta joins AllianzGI as a lead portfolio manager, according to a statement, Based in Singapore, he reports to Raymond Chan, chief investment officer equity, Asia Pacific.
In the role, Gupta will be the lead manager responsible for India equity mandates, India thematic strategies and related portfolios. He will also drive the formulation of investment strategies for the Indian market.
Gupta has over 20 years of experience in equity investments with a focus on the Indian market. He was most recently working at Eastspring Investments, where he has led their India growth equity team for more than a decade. Previously, he also worked at SBI MUTUAL FUND, Batlivala & Karani Securities India and HSBC Securities.
