Geneva-based Lombard Odier has hired a former UBS banker to oversee growth in new markets, including the Middle East.
Lombard Odier has appointed Ali Janoudi as head of new markets, according to a statement. Based in Geneva, he becomes a limited partner and private clients executive committee member while reporting to managing partner and co-head of private clients Frédéric Rochat.
Janoudi will be responsible for pursuing the bank’s growth strategy in the «new markets region» with a particular focus on the Middle East. Other regions under his remit will also include Eastern Europe, Turkey and Africa.
30-Year Veteran
Janoudi has 30 years of banking experience across New York, Luxemburg, Paris and Switzerland. He joins Lombard Odier from UBS where he led various international strategic units over the last 13 years and was a member of the global wealth management executive committee. He held senior roles including head of Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, group head of Middle East and Africa as well as executive vice chairman.
Janoudi takes over the role from Arnaud Leclercq, partner holding privé, who will take on a new role focusing on key strategic clients.
