Citi named a new head of capital markets origination for the Asia-Pacific region.

With over 29 years of diverse experience across client coverage and capital markets‎ Ashu Khullar has been promoted to take on the role of head of capital markets origination for the Asia-Pacific region at Citi. A bank spokesman confirmed the move to finews.asia.

Khullar has worked across both developed and emerging markets in Europe, Middle East Africa and India. He has been with Citi in London since 1996 after initial years with Citi in India. Khullar will replace Kenneth Poon, who is leaving the bank after 13 years. Khullar will relocate to Hong Kong from London.

Earlier this year Citi announced new appointments in its Commercial Bank in Asia Pacific, supporting its fastest growing businesses. Amit Dhawan was appointed Asia Pacific Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME) business head. Citi also announced the appointment of Rodney Lee as the Asia Commercial Bank digitization head.
