UBS Adds Another China Campus
UBS established a second UBS University campus in China, a key market for the Swiss bank.
The new facility is located at the UBS Business Solutions Center (UBS-BSC) in Wuxi, and supplements existing UBS University campuses in Asia Pacific in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and India.
UBS's workforce in China already exceeds 1,000 and the bank is seeking to double headcount in the country by 2020. The new Wuxi campus will offer tailor-made training and professional development programs targeting a younger workforce with an average age of 27.
Axel Weber chairman of the Swiss bank, which is also Asia's largest wealth manager said in September, «We actually decided to double our headcount in mainland China, which shows a long-term continuous commitment.»
Earlier this year UBS unveiled the Beijing Campus and during 2016 ramped up its commitment to the world's fastest growing wealth region by opening a Business University campus in Shanghai and launched an association with one of China's leading business schools, establishing the «UBS-Fudan Finance Certificate and Scholarship».
