An independent asset manager in Singapore beefed up with the city-state's regulator. The boutique also poached a portfolio manager from a banking software firm.
Miton Optimal has a full capital markets license after receiving approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the independent asset manager said on its website.
The management-operated firm, which manages roughly $1.25 billion, also said it is hiring Eric Mellor as head of portfolio management. Miton has poached the banker from Swiss banking software firm Avaloq, where he was the sales director for Southeast Asia for the past three years.
