Union Bancaire Privee poached a team of six private bankers from a Singapore wealth rival, finews.asia can report exclusively.
Geneva-based Union Bancaire Privee, or UBP, is poaching six bankers including Sharmaine Han from Standard Chartered's wealth arm, a person familiar with the matter told finews.asia. Han was named market head in the city-state, and joins UBP along with three other private bankers and two associates.
She will report to Ranjit Khanna, the Swiss private bank's CEO for Singapore and head of South Asia. A UBP spokeswoman confirmed the move to finews.asia.
Since acquiring Coutts' international arm three years ago including activities in Hong Kong and Singapore, UBP has pledged to keep building the Asian business. CEO, Guy de Picciotto told finews.asia recently he aims to increase the share of assets managed in the region to one-third of the firm's total within five years.
