A transformation specialist with more than two decades of industry experience is taking over an important role in the further expansion of the French insurance group Axa in Asia.

Myriam Moufakkir has commenced her role as chief operating officer of Asian Markets at Axa as of 1st of April 2018, the French insurance company said on Thursday in Hong Kong. Moufakkir will report directly to Gordon Watson, chief executive officer of Asia. The Asian businesses are part of the Axa Group, headquartered in Paris and with a presence in 64 countries. 

Moufakkir brings to the company longstanding experience in both Asia and Europe. In her new role, she will continue to lead and transform the overall IT and Operations capabilities across all lines of business in the Asian Markets. She has over two decades of experience in the insurance and financial sectors.

Large Global Transformation Programs

After holding IT management positions with Banque Paribas and Aviva, she joined Axa Group in 2005 where she led large global transformation programs, including multi-access and the global implementation of the intranet platform.

She joined the firm in the Asia region as transformation portfolio director in 2016, and was subsequently promoted to regional chief information officer for Life & Health. She holds a master’s degree from École Centrale de Paris in engineering.
