Julius Baer has hired a seasoned veteran, formerly the regional head of alternatives for Credit Suisse, to join its funds team.
Donald Rice joins Julius Baer as its Singapore-based Asia head of funds specialists, reporting to Rishabh Saksena, Asia head investment specialists. Rice succeeds John Cappetta who left in early August and has since joined Investec to oversee distribution to the private banking segment.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the new hire.
More Than Three Decades
Rice left Credit Suisse in May this year where he was last its Asia Pacific deputy head of fund solutions and head of alternatives. He has more than 30 years of experience dating back to 1986 when he was involved in trading in New York with the former Lehman Brothers. He joined Credit Suisse 23 years ago in its alternatives business where he was focused on structuring and marketing products for distribution.
Rice is joined by another recently hired heavyweight in Jason Moo who was named as Julius Baer’s Southeast Asia private banking head. Moo was previously with Goldman Sachs for over 20 years and was most recently its head of private wealth management for Southeast Asia and Australia.
