Credit Suisse has appointed a new head of investor relations. The financial analyst joined the bank when ex-CEO Tidjane Thiam was still calling the shots.
Kinner Lakhani has taken over as head of investor relations at Credit Suisse, according to a memo made available to members of staff and seen by finews.com. His appointment became effective immediately and he will report to CFO David Mathers. Lakhani will also keep his duties as head of group strategy and development and report to CEO Thomas Gottstein in this capacity.
As head of investor relations, Lakhani is taking over from Adam Gishen who left the firm in the wake of the departure of Tidjane Thiam. Lakhani is an expert financial analyst who used to work for Deutsche Bank as head of European company research and advisory as well as head of European financials research. He had joined the German bank in 2015 from Citigroup.

He also worked for international giants ABN Amro and Morgan Stanley. Lakhani was voted best analyst in several investor surveys and was one of twenty top «Bloomberg Global Champion Stockpickers». He is a chartered accountant and graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Lakhani joined Credit Suisse in November 2019 and worked closely with ex-CEO Thiam. Gottstein said in the memo that Lakhani had made a substantial contribution to the new strategic initiatives of the bank and that he in his new role would ensure that investor relations and strategy would be coordinated in an optimized fashion.
Lakhani will have Michele Cubic, head of IR Americas and Asia Pacific, and Mark Smart, head of IR EMEA to support him in his duties.
