Hong Kong maintained its throne in 2022 as Asia’s most expensive destination for business travel, according to ECA International.
Hong Kong sat on top of Asia’s most expensive cities for business travellers in 2022 with an average daily cost of $520, according to a report by mobile workforce specialist ECA International, down $4 year-on-year.
The average cost includes hotel accommodation, meals, drinks, laundry, taxi costs and daily essentials.
Singapore, Tokyo
On the heels of Hong Kong, Singapore is Asia’s second most expensive location with an average daily cost of $515, overtaking Tokyo ($424 per day) which fell to third place in 2022.
Globally, Hong Kong and Singapore were the 16th and 19th most expensive locations for business travellers, respectively.
«Business travel costs decreased in 2022, albeit slightly, due to low volumes of business travel demand caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and a poorly performing economy,» said Lee Quane, regional director Asia at ECA International.
