Citi bolsters its treasury and trade solutions unit with the appointment of a new head of Hong Kong – its largest APAC market in the space.
Citi names Vishal Kapoor for the new role, reporting to Rajesh Mehta, head of trade and treasury solutions (TTS) for Asia Pacific, and Angel Ng, CEO of Hong Kong and Macau.
Kapoor is a 25-year veteran at Citi and was most recently its head of trade for Asia. Previously, he also held various roles in capital markets ordination and corporate banking in Hong Kong and India.

According to the bank, the hire caters to an ongoing shift in corporate client behavior especially with regards to digitalization.
«[Kapoor’s] institutional knowledge, and breadth and depth of experience will enable us to continue leading the way in offering solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients as they look to digital technology to innovate and improve efficiency,» said Ng.
Hong Kong is Citi’s largest TTS unit in Asia and the business has seen double-digit revenue growth over the past five years. Citi’s border TTS business spans across 97 markets alongside 160 countries and jurisdictions with $4 trillion in daily transactional flows.
