Allianz Global Investors strengthens its multi-asset team in Asia Pacific with the appointment of a new regional head alongside a new head for Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Zijian Yang joins AllianzGI as its head of multi-asset Asia Pacific after his most recent role as sniper vice president for multi-asset solutions at AllianceBernstein in Singapore. Yang rejoins after working with AllianzGI between 2008 and 2017 in multiple multi-asset teams as a portfolio manager.
The asset manager also named Jingjing Chai as the head of multi-asset for Hong Kong and Taiwan, reporting to Yang. Chai was most recently a New York-based portfolio manager in overlay, risk parity and total/absolute return strategies after joining AllianzGI in 2012.
Yang reports to Thomas Zimmerer, AllianzGI’s global head of multi-asset investments, who expected «maximum use» of the firm’s global multi-asset capabilities as well as «wider cross-regional collaboration».
«This new setup is a testimony to our long-term commitment in the region, where we see a steady increase in clients’ interest in investing into the multi-asset space,» he added.
