Eric Raynaud will step down from his role as BNP Paribas’ head of Asia Pacific at the end of November this year.
Paul Yang succeeds Raynaud in the role, according to a statement, in addition to his existing role as chief executive of corporate and institutional banking for the region.
Raynaud will retire in December after a 40-year banking career of which over half resided in Asia.
30-Year Veteran
Yang spent three decades with BNP Paribas after joining its Paris office in 1988. Since then, he held various senior roles across France and Asia including his most recent role as Greater China head before being promoted to lead the region in June last year. He also held stints as country head for Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
«Over the last 10 years, [Raynaud] successfully drove the Group activities in the APAC Region, and considerably developed our presence while consolidating our business franchises,» said BNP Paribas CEO Jean-Laurent Bonnafé. «I wish him all the best for his personal future.»
