Global alternatives manager Blackstone expands its environmental, social and governance team with the addition of new members.

Blackstone appointed five newly created positions across the U.S. Europe and Asia for the ESG team, according to a statement.

«We view ESG as central to our mission of delivering strong returns for clients,» said Blackstone president and chief operating officer Jon Gray.

«Blackstone is using its scale and expertise to help strengthen our companies, assets and the communities in which they operate.»

New Team Members

The new members of the ESG team include managing director of ESG (corporate) Elizabeth Lewis; managing director of sustainability (portfolio operations) James Mandel; head of real estate ESG (real estate, Asia) Nina James; head of real estate ESG (real estate, Europe) Caroline Hill; and global head of ESG for Blackstone Alternatives Asset Management and Blackstone Credit Rita Mangalick.

Within Asia, James will partner with global head of real estate ESG Eric Duchon to built out the firm’s regional asset management capabilities.
