After having established an office in Singapore three years ago, GoldenTree Asset Management expands to Australia. The presence down-under marks the firm's attempt to grow across the Asia Pacific region.

The firm appointed Russell Taylor as managing director to lead the new office in Sydney. Prior to joining GoldenTree, he spent over 30 years with J.P. Morgan, holding several key management and sales roles across Credit Derivatives, Structured Credit, Securitization, Loans and Rates. He joined theUS-firm in 1985 and helped establish the banks institutional coverage of fixed income and derivatives in Australia. 

Most recently Taylor managed J.P. Morgan's sales team responsible for distribution of Credit and Alternative products to financial institutions in Australia and New Zealand the firm said in a press release. The APAC area is home to a number of the firm’s institutional clients.
