Avaloq, the Swiss banking software company, is reinforcing its presence in Australia, a country it sees as a key market.
Fintech firm Avaloq sees strong growth prospects in the Australian wealth management market. The Swiss company appointed Anantha Ayer as head of its Australian team to bolster its business in the country. Ayer moves to Australia from his current posting in Singapore, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
Based in Sydney, Ayer will report to Chris Beukers, regional manager for Asia Pacific and member of Avaloq’s group executive board. Prior to taking up the new role, Ayer was responsible for overseeing operational back office services to the financial industry in Asia Pacific.
Growing Importance
Along with Ayer's appointment, the banking software provider also named James Land as managing director Australia. Land joins Avaloq from Thomson Reuters and will report to Ayer.
The Swiss financial technology company has a strong focus on Asia Pacific, with customers including Bank of Asia, Maybank and China CITIC Bank. Australia is becoming a key market for Avaloq, where BT Financial Group and Crestone (previously UBS Australia) are among its customers.
