Financial services firm Barings is adding resources in the Asia Pacific region as part of its long-term growth strategy. There is also a new Head of Wealt- and Retail Distribution for Greater China and Southeast Asia. 

Barings appointed Mandy Lui (pictured above) to the role of Head of Wealth/Retail Distribution, Greater China and Southeast Asia, according to a media release on Monday.

In her new role, she is responsible for managing sales, business development and client service for Wealth and Retail distribution across Greater China and Southeast Asia. Lui is based in Hong Kong and reports to Jon Millin, Head of Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) Distribution.

Lui joins Barings from BNP Paribas Asset Management where she was the Head of Wholesale Distribution, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Prior to this, she held positions at Schroder Investment Management (Hong Kong) and Russell Investments.

New Investment Strategies

Barings has been adding resources in the Asia Pacific region as part of its long-term growth strategy. In August, Duncan Robertson, Global Head of Distribution and Marketing assumed an expanded role as Head of Asia Pacific. The firm is also introducing two High Yield investment strategies to the Hong Kong market, offering its clients in Asia with access to the firm’s global investment platform.
