UBS staff dressed up as elves and superheroes during their lunchtime for a charity event. Specially-designed ties were hot items.
UBS bankers decided to have some fun by dressing up for a winter market event as they raise monies for a charitable cause this Christmas. Monies raised will go to Operation Santa Claus, an annual charity campaign jointly organised by newspaper «South China Morning Post» and public broadcaster «RTHK».
«Many colleagues have donated items to the event to raise funds,» said Amy Lo Choi-wan, chairwoman and head of UBS Wealth Management for Greater China, who was quoted in «South China Morning Post». This was the second year the bank has held the winter market.
Adding A Twist To Giving
A charity auction was also held during the party, with an array of art pieces up for grabs. «The specially designed ties are one of our biggest draws this year,» Lo said, pointing to the long queue for the menswear item.
The Swiss bank, which has been supporting Operation Santa Claus for 18 years wanted to do charity in a unique way. For example, UBS has set up a programme to train executives from NGOs and social enterprises by honing their skills in strategic thinking, fundraising strategy, brand building and social networking.
