She has 15 years of experience in the asset management industry and specializes in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) sales and distribution.
Boston-headquartered State Street Global Investors has appointed Joanne Siu as head of SPDR ETFs, Hong Kong, effective immediately, the firm announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Based in Hong Kong, Siu will oversee the State Street's distribution of SPDR ETFs in Hong Kong, coordinating distribution engagement for the firm’s institutional and financial intermediary clients across capital markets, product and infrastructure. She will report to Meaghan Victor, the firm's head of SPDR ETF Asia Pacific distribution.
Siu was previously a sales director at Jupiter Asset Management, and held positions at Samsung Asset Management and BlackRock. She began her career at State Street in the asset servicing business.

Last month, the firm hired Mostapha Tahiri, a former BNP Paribas executive who was most recently its APAC CEO of securities services, to lead its business in the Asia Pacific region. At the same time, State Street named fellow BNP Paribas exec Joanna Chen, as its Beijing-based head of China.
