UBS reportedly appointed an equity strategist for Japan – a role that did not exist at the newly enlarged Swiss bank since 2016.
Nozomi Moriya has been named an equity strategist for Japan at UBS’s securities unit in the country, according to a «Bloomberg» report. Moriya was most recently a retail sector analyst.
This equity strategist position has been restored for the first time since 2016.
Japan Expansion
UBS is undergoing expansion in Japan amid strong market performance in the country and a Credit Suisse takeover.
In October, UBS's Japanese securities unit also welcomed a number of former Credit Suisse researchers. Within Japan, this included Takahiro Kazahaya as head of retail sector research as well as Fumiyoshi Sakai (healthcare), Kasumi Haruta (pharmaceuticals) and Rei Ihara (F&B).
