She leads the firm's Multi-Asset Group, which delivers tailored investment solutions for clients.

Sydney-based global investment manager AMP Capital announced on Thursday that it has promoted Debbie Alliston to Chief Investment Officer of its Multi-Asset Group, which manages A$62 billion in assets.

She takes over from Sean Henaghan, who is on a 15-month sabbatical. She reports to Simon Warner, who was appointed in October to lead the firm's public markets business. He said that Alliston was a «key appointment for the business.»

Alliston will be responsible for the portfolio management, dynamic markets, market solutions and tailored investment solutions teams. She will also continue to be responsible for portfolio management of the Future Directions and AMP Lifecycle funds.

Alliston was most recently the Head of AMP's Multi-Asset Portfolio Management, a role she held for seven years. Before that, she spent four years with Apostle Asset Management as an investment director. From 1991 to 2007, she held a range of roles at BT Financial Group (formerly Rothschild Asset Management), including Chief Operating Officer, Investment Management and Director Head of Portfolio Management.
