RBC Wealth Management has made a hire each in Hong Kong and Singapore to bolster front office capabilities for the Greater China and family office segments.

Andrew Cheng (pictured above) has joined RBC Wealth Management’s Hong Kong office as executive director, private banking and Andrew White joins the Singapore office as director, private banking, covering the Asia’s Global Families client segment.

Cheng has more than 30 years of experience in financial services and was most recently a managing director with Indosuez. Previously, he was the China market head with ANZ. He also worked with the likes of Standard Chartered, UBS, HSBC and Julius Baer.

White has 14 years of industry experience including 12 with multi-family office Sandaire where he was most recently its Asia CIO.

Asia Hiring Momentum

RBC Wealth Management appears to be picking up its hiring in the region with this announcement following another recent pair of hires.

Cheng and White report to another recently hired duo, Vicky Lin, Greater China deputy head of private banking and Dom Lane, executive director and team head, private banking, respectively.

«The expanded team will work with clients in southeast and northeast Asia to provide market-leading service to «Asia’s Global Families», which are internationally mobile high net worth families with complex financial structures that often span multiple geographies,» the announcement said. «These clients are a key growth segment for RBC Wealth Management in Asia.»
