Robeco continues to eye growth in China with the latest appointment of its China head of investments and a restructuring of the team.
Jie Lu has been appointed to the Shanghai-based role, according to a statement, effective immediately while also retaining his role as general manager and legal representative of Robeco Shanghai WFOE.
Lu will report to Fabiana Fedeli, the asset manager’s Rotterdam-based global head of fundamental equities.
Lu has more than 13 years of investment experience and joined Robeco in 2015 as its China head of research.
New Team Structure
Under the new structure, Li Ying Du has been named Hong Kong-based lead portfolio manager for offshore Chinese equities, co-managing the strategies with Lin Tang who will be relocating from Shanghai. The Chinese A-share strategy will continue to be sub-advised by Lu.
The team will also be supported by five senior equity analysts based in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Rotterdam with more expansion underway, Robecco said.
«China is of strategic importance for Robeco,» said Fedeli. «We have a strong and experienced China investment and research team in place – they all have been with the firm for many years and have worked closely together for some time.»
