The commercial insurance arm of the Swiss Re Group appointed a new head to its Southeast Asia business.
With effect from 1 December 2017 and based in Singapore, Didier Belot takes on the role of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Southeast Asia head. Belot replaces Jonathan Rake, who was promoted to the role of Asia-Pacific CEO in July 2017.
Belot joined Swiss Re in 2008 and has held roles in the U.S., China and Europe. His most recent post was leading the innovative risk solutions team in Asia Pacific.
Hurricanes in the U.S. and Caribbean as well as a massive earthquake in Mexico pushed Swiss Re to a nine-month loss. The world's second-largest reinsurer faces $3.6 billion in claims linked to the devastation, it said earlier this month.
