KPMG nabbed the former King & Wood Mallesons banking and finance partner to head up its Australian law practice.

Confirming KPMG’s commitment to developing its legal services business, Stuart Fuller the former global managing partner at King & Wood Malleson’s (KWM) is now the new head of KPMG Law the firm announced in a press release.

Fuller spent the last decade in various leadership positions at KWM and also led the firm in Australia and Hong Kong. Prior to his leadership roles, Fuller’s client practice spanned the financial industry, markets and regulations, cross border investment, trade and capital markets and securitisation.

One Stop Shops

Other professional services firms have been bulking up and expanding their legal offerings including Ernst & Young who recently added Michelle Segaert to lead EY’s newly formed Australian financial services team, while Andrew Ball took charge of the firm’s Australia employment practice as finews.asia reported.

PwC also expanded its legal capabilities in Asia establishing PwC Legal International in Singapore in 2016. In June this year the firm added two partners from rival firms meaning PwC Legal International now has four partners in Singapore.
