S&P Global Platts, a provider of information and benchmark prices for the commodities and energy markets, appointed a Head of Asia Analytics. He commences this Monday.
Based in Singapore, Kang Wu (pictured above) will report to Chris Midgley, Global Head of Analytics Content and will provide leadership to the growing Analytics team in Asia, develop an integrated commodities view in the region and help grow the business in the East.
He joins S&P Global Platts from Kasparc, an institution established by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Kang was responsible for managing the markets and industrial development program for research.
From 2014 to 2017 Kang was Vice Chairman and Managing Director for FGE in Asia, a global oil and gas consultancy. He has also held senior consultant and director roles in energy research across Asia, the Pacific and Latin America. Kang received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM).
