Private bank EFG International appointed a new chief risk offier who will succeed Thomas A. Mueller, who was elected to the Board of Directors of Raiffeisen Switzerland.
EFG International appointed Ranjit Singh (pictured above) as its new Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Executive Committee, effective beginning of January 2019 at the latest and subject to regulatory approval, the Swiss private bank said in a media release on Monday.
Ranjit (Raj) Singh will report directly to CEO Giorgio Pradelli. In his most recent position, he served as Group Chief Risk Officer and Group Executive of Standard Life Aberdeen in Edinburgh and London from 2013 to 2018.
Various Roles in Financial Services
Prior to that, he served as Group Chief Risk Officer of Swiss Re in Zurich, Switzerland, where he was also a member of the Executive Board and Committee, from 2007 to 2011. From 2002 to 2007, he held the position of Group Chief Risk Officer at Allianz in Munich, Germany, where he was also a member of the Group Management.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Winona State University in Minnesota, and a Master of Business Administration in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, both in the U.S.
Moving on
Singh will succeed Thomas A. Mueller, who was elected to the Board of Directors of Raiffeisen Switzerland on 10 November 2018 and stepped down from his role as Chief Risk Officer and member of the Executive Committee of EFG International as of that date.
Dimitris Politis will take on the role of Chief Risk Officer on an interim basis with immediate effect, while continuing to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
