He replaces Andy Clark, who leaves the firm after a seven-year stint as U.K. CEO to pursue other opportunities.
HSBC Global Asset Management (GAM) has announced the appointment of Stuart White as Global Head of Strategy and U.K. & International CEO.
White has been the firm's head of strategy since September 2015, accountable for strategy, planning and chief of staff activities. His expanded role will see him lead the delivery of HSBC GAM’s strategic program, future strategy, M&A and corporate management activities, said a statement on Monday.
White will also be responsible for HSBC GAM's entities in the U.K., Bermuda, Malta, Turkey, as well as have oversight of asset management activities in Saudi Arabia and for Hang Seng Investment Management in Hong Kong.
Revamp Under New Global CEO
Based in London, White reports directly to Nicolas Moreau, Global CEO, who joined the firm from DWS in September.
According to the announcement, Moreau has been working with HSBC's senior leadership on a new strategy that focuses on «core» products and «specialist solutions» in emerging markets, Asia and alternatives.
