The bank has hired two specialists as it continues to develop its infrastructure debt business.
HSBC's asset management arm has appointed infrastructure debt specialist Alexandre Broggi as senior portfolio manager, responsible for growing the firm's infrastructure debt platform in Asia, the bank announced on Tuesday.
Broggi, who joined HSBC in 2006, is currently the bank's director of infrastructure finance at its global banking and markets business. He brings two decades of experience in infrastructure finance across roles in Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore. He was previously in the project finance team at Credit Agricole.
Based in Hong Kong, Broggi will begin his new role on 4 January 2021, and will report to Glenn Fox, global head of infrastructure debt investments.
London Hire
Joining its team in London is Dimitrois Papatheodorou, who was also appointed senior portfolio manager of infrastructure debt investments, who will lead the execution of transactions for the firm's high-yield infrastructure debt strategy.
Papatheodorou joins after spending five years at Sequoia Investment Management. He was previously in corporate finance advisory at EY in Athens, Greece, and with RBS in London.
Growing Business
«We expect strong growth in the Asia-Pacific market in the coming years given the substantial need for infrastructure investment in the region,» Fox said.
The bank's infrastructure debt platform was established in 2018. It currently has over $2.2 billion in assets under management, with $1.33 billion deployed across 41 transactions as of December 2020.
