The Swiss reinsurer is poaching from an insurtech start-up for its new head of property and casualty solutions.

Zurich-based Swiss Re is hiring Pranav Pasricha as head of its property and casualty solutions globally, effective August 1, it said in an emailed statement on Thursday. Pasricha replaces Eric Schuh, a 12-year veteran of Swiss Re who is leaving the reinsurer for an undisclosed new role elsewhere.

Schuh had held various key roles at Swiss Re, where he began in 2008 in Beijing as head of business development in Asia. He has held the P&C role for the last three years.

Insurtech Expertise

Pasricha is currently CEO of Intellect SEEC, an insurance technology start-up that provides solutions based on data, machine learning, and cloud technology to property and casualty as well as life insurers. He will report to Swiss Re casualty underwriting head Jason Richards and be based in the U.S.

«His experience of working in the insurtech environment over the past seven years will be a big asset as we continue to develop new innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs,» Richard said.
