He takes over from Marcel Omar Papp, who has been in the role since 2018 and will now focus on his responsibilities as Head of Swiss Re Retakaful.
Swiss Re has appointed Balasubramanian Nagarajan as head of client markets property and casualty (conventional), and head of Swiss Re Malaysia, effective 1 September 2021, the firm announced on Thursday.
Nagarajan has 25-year track record across re/insurance in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and India. He was most recently Swiss Re's head of P&C business management SID.
In his new role, Nagarajan will strengthen and diversify Swiss Re’s insurance relationships for the P&C business across the region.
