The appointment is part of the bank's plans to grow its commercial bank business in the region where supply chain shifts are seeing increased investment and trade flows.

Citi has appointed Hsiu-Yi Lin as the head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) for the ASEAN region, the bank announced in a press release on Thursday.

Lin, who will hold the position concurrently with her current role as CCB Head for Citi in Singapore, will be responsible for driving CCB's business strategy in the ASEAN region, one of the bank's fastest commercial banking markets, where it supports multinational clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Commercial Banking Opportunities in ASEAN

«ASEAN represents a key opportunity for the Commercial Bank in the region, with growing cross-border flows. It is home to a fast-growing breed of emerging corporate champions who we want to partner and grow by supporting our clients with their cash management, trade, foreign exchange, capital raising and potential M&A needs,» Rajat Madhok, Citi head of Commercial Banking, Asia Pacific, said.

CCB is the arm of Citi that caters to small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies with revenues up to $1 billion. Citi's Asia-Pacific Commercial Bank, which operates across 11 markets, catering to 16,000 clients, contributes about one-third of the bank’s global commercial banking revenues.
