The U.S. bond house has named a new head of Asia-Pacific, with the incumbent taking on a new role as the global head of the firm's product strategy group.
Alec Kersman, managing director, will become Pimco's new head of Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong, the firm announced in a statement on Thursday. He is currently head of strategic accounts in U.S. global wealth management.
Kersman takes over from Kimberley Stafford, managing director, who will return to Pimco's Newport Beach office in mid-2021, where she will take on a new role as global head of product strategy group, overseeing traditional strategies and alternatives, which include private strategies and hedge funds.
Experienced Professionals
Kersman drove the growth of PIMCO’s Latin America business over more than a decade and, more recently, has played a major role in bringing his client relationship expertise to U.S. GWM.
