She brings a wealth of experience in global transaction banking, holding senior sales roles at leading institutions, including J.P. Morgan, Bank of America and ANZ.
BNY Mellon has appointed Winnie Chen as its Asia Pacific head of treasury services with immediate effect, the firm announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Chen joins the firm from UOB, where she was the bank's group head for financial institutions sales for almost five years. Prior to that, she was head of financial institutions sales, North Asia, for ANZ in Hong Kong.
Chen also joins BNY Mellon's treasury services leadership team and represents treasury services on BNY Mellon’s Asia Pacific leadership council. Chen will report directly to Eric Boughner, global head of treasury services relationship management and business development, and will also have a regional reporting line into Fangfang Chen, Asia Pacific chair and Asia Pacific head of asset servicing and digital, the announcement said.
Growth Driver
BNY Mellon has previously said that Asia Pacific is an important growth driver for the firm, and has been deepening its presence in the region with several senior hires in recent months.
In her new role, based in Singapore, Chen will lead the regional strategy, execution and governance for the Treasury Services business in Asia Pacific, and will have direct oversight of the relationship management and business development functions for the region, with matrix responsibility for all treasury services functions including product and client services, BNY Mellon said.
