On the heels of new distribution hires in Southeast Asia, Franklin Templeton Investments named a new head for Asia-Pacific real estate investment.
The Californian asset manager's real estate arm is hiring Woon Pin Chong to run the Asia-Pacific region, it said on Thursday. He will lead the Asia-Pacific investment team in research, analysis and transactions of private real estate investment and define market insights and investment themes, the firm said in a press release.
In addition to investment management, Chong will also be responsible for the business development and marketing of real estate investment products and strategies. He will report to Raymond Jacobs, who runs Franklin Templeton's real estate arm.
Previously, Chong was managing director at Savant Global Capital, an asset manager. He has also worked for Lend Lease Investment Management and Colliers International. His hire comes shortly after Franklin Templeton disclosed two senior distribution appointments in Asia.
