The Asian investment management arm of Prudential, one of the region’s largest investment managers, has made two senior appointments.
Eastspring Investments has appointed Francis Woo as chief financial officer (CFO) and Joyce Chan as head of Intermediaries and general manager, Hong Kong, the firm announced in a statement on Wednesday.
Woo joins from TPG Capital Asia, where he was also CFO. Before joining TPG in 2012, Woo worked for Credit Suisse Group, UBS, and Credit Suisse First Boston.
In his new role, Woo is responsible for financial management and will work closely with Eastspring's regional teams. Based in Singapore, he reports to CEO Wai-Kwong Seck, and joins the firm's management committee.
Intermediaries Head as Hong Kong GM
Chan, a 20-year industry veteran, joins from PineBridge Investments Asia, where she spent the past decade developing the intermediary business for Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. She previously worked for Allianz Global Investors, UBS Asset Management and HSBC Global Asset Management.
As head of Intermediaries, she will be responsible for driving the sales and distribution of Eastspring’s products. She reports to Glen Lee, head of intermediary sales, who is based in Singapore.
Chan will also be appointed general manager of the firm's Hong Kong office, subject to regulatory approval. She takes over from Boon Peng Ooi, who leaves the position to focus on his role as chief executive of Eastspring Singapore and head of Investment Strategies. In this role, she reports to Xavier Meyer, head of distribution.
