The global reinsurance firm has made two senior appointments, effective 1 January 2021, to its life and health business in the region.
Munich Re has named Aravind Srinivas as managing director of life and health, Southeast Asia, succeeding Tobias Frenz, who takes on the newly created role of head of digital solutions, life and health, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, the firm announced on Wednesday.
Srinivas brings more than 15 years of experience in the life insurance industry. He was most recently Munich Re's chief commercial officer for its life, health and high net worth business in the region, and previously head of client pricing in Munich Re Australasia. Based in Singapore, he reports to David Hughes, Munich Re's CEO of life and health, Asia (ex-Greater China).

Frenz (pictured below) is responsible for further developing the group’s wide range of digital solutions which span from (re)insurance specific AI and predictive analytics solutions through to augmented automated underwriting and claims solutions, the announcement said. He reports to Daniel Cossette, Munich Re's CEO of life and health, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.

Also based in Singapore, Frenz joined Munich Re in 2002, and has worked in Germany, the U.A.E., Malaysia and Singapore in various client management and senior leadership roles, including heading its Retakaful business.
